Sleep-ins, long breakfasts on the porch and lots of coffees with missed friends were all I had planned, but I had never anticipated that most of my week would be spent working. Lots of great, new projects in the works though, so keep your eyes pealed for this …

To give you an idea of how I wish I had spent my week, I thought I’d post this image of a hammock. You might recognize the checked pattern, which derives from the mattresses by Swedish bedding company Hästens. The hammock is yours for 1 895 Swedish crowns, and available for a limited time only.

Ps. Beach in the background is not included.

As a fan of all things Italian (especially the design) I have, as of recently, found my eyes wandering to Spanish design. Salon aims to give a voice and stage to the best of Spanish contemporary architecture and design. I’ll let the images speak for themselves …

I’ve spent the end of last week in the most southern part of Spain, in the province and city (both) called Almería. I must admit that I was hoping for a somewhat more vibrant city, but it’s still spring there and the action is just around the corner.

What did take me aback, was the beautiful surroundings that were packed with dynamism and contrast. Imagine having beaches, volcanic mountains and desserts all in 30 minutes drive from one another. My guide told me that skiing was even fully possible during spring about 2 hours drive away. No wonder the area has been used in numerous films in the past (Indiana Jones, tons of westerns and Conan the Barbarian among others).

I’ve been particularly active with my camera on this trip, trying to practice my skills. Hope you like it!
