Mattias Dahlgren is a renowned chef in Sweden, and with his self-titled restaurant he’s created quite a stir internationally. I recently interview Martin Raymond from The Future Laboratory, and when asked to choose a favorite restaurant, Mattias Dahlgren was one among the three that he felt deserved the title.

Last night I finally had the chance to eat a bite at Matbaren, the little-sister-bistro of the restaurant mentioned above. Matbaren is located just next door, and both spaces are individually decorated by Ilse Crawford.

After a meal of pork, truffles and mashed potatoes followed by the signature dessert of chocolate fondant and toffee ice cream, I conclude that this is one of the better meals I’ve had in a long time.
